was born in Estelí, Nicaragua in 1979.

He lived his childhood and part of his adolecence surrounded by the nature of the north of the country.

He played in the mountains and rivers, he liked drawing which he did using a nail as a pencil, he drew on the ground, on trees and on walls.

During the period of the civil war that his country was going through, he drew war planes and skulls.

He emigrated to the neighboring country of Costa Rica where years later he studied drawing of civil plans and courses in portraiture and oil technique in fine Arts at the UCR University. He also received private classes in classical realism painting with the colombian master Cesar Orozco.

Nature has always been present in this memories like a green mantles in his eyes, deep, mysterious, and infinite. It is in this intricate vegetation where Walter Castillo finds his motivation and inspiration, his painting of jungles.

His works have been acquired by collectors and found in several countries in America and Europe.
